We are Association of Orthodox Jewish Teachers of the New York City Public Schools.
We have an active Grievance Committee that helps resolve individual problems and ensure that your rights are protected. We protect the religious rights of teachers and professionals who provide special services, such as OTs, PTs, Speech Therapists, School Psychologists, Social Workers, and other Special Ed. professionals.
We contact supervisors on your behalf to intervene when there is a problem.

Because of us
- Chancellor's Regulation C-606 has been updated to include travel time when considering the amount of time allowed for early dismissal on winter Fridays.
- Sabbath Observers Bill was passed in Albany in 1968.
- The school calendar has been designed so that the Spring Vacation includes all of the Passover holiday.
- The current UFT contract provides for 3 personal business days which may be used to cover absence on religious holidays.
- Special Circulars have been issued urging that schedules of Jewish personnel be adjusted when necessary.
- Jewish Culture Clubs were formed in public high schools.
